Angel Creek, Wells, Nevada

Angel Creek is an oasis a few miles off the Interstate 80 cutting through Nevada. After a long drive that is rather barren and hot, Angel Creek campground is lush, has beautiful views, and even has views of snow-capped mountains! The drive into camp can be a bit tedious as you are one a road that is travelled only by those going in or out of camp (which is not many) and gains elevation rapidly at points. If you decide
your transmission can handle it, heading up the road further past the campground sign will lead you to Angel Lake. The camp is made up of two different loops, the upper loop being more wooded with Aspens, while the lower loop has a few trees, but is mostly grassy. There are no "bad" spots in this camp, and several spots are first-come-first-served. If you want to enjoy mountain and valley views from your site, the lower loop is the place to settle. In the peak of summer, there is no creek here, but there are a lot of snakes, so be careful. We saw two snakes during our two day stay. There are also cows nearby, wild turkeys which come through camp and lots of birds and bugs. Definitely bring your bug spray!
