We were a little hesitant to stay at this park having not ever been to the Lake Havasu area and preferring family friendly parks. Despite the rumors of the region, we were pleasantly surprised by this park's scenic and family fun atmosphere! The campground is within the northern Parker city limits along the Parker Strip and is the nicest campground we could find in the area. Parker is about 25 miles south of Havasu City and offers a mild winter climate and hot summer days and nights. The campground is set in a niche surrounded by cliffs on the east side and the river on the western and northern sides, as the Colorado River bends around a bank giving this state park more campsites offeringwater access and views than other state parks in the area. For tenters, there are ramadas with electricity, tables and fire pits on the western
shore. All other campsites offer electricity, water, tables and fire rings. A few offer sewer hookups. Some sites here are more spacious than others. Some are tucked up against beautiful cliffs while others open up to the Colorado River and are spacious with spectacular views of the river, allowing campers to spend hours watching boaters and water enthusiasts enjoy themselves on the river. All interior roads and site pads are asphalt and fairly level.
Efficiently run by the Arizona State Parks system, this campground has many amenities including, a general store, arcade, restaurant and bar set along the river with dock access, river access, boat ramps, gas pump dock, gas pump for land users, a playground, ice cream socials, happy hour at the restaurant, hiking trails, a Visitor's Center, a desert garden, restrooms, swimming beach and large grassy common areas. The only thing we found would be useful, is a laundry facility and boat rentals.
