Lake Dardanelle State Park, Russellville, Arkansas
campgrounds with tons of amenities and open spaces for guests to enjoy.
We stayed in the larger Russellville area camp and enjoyed the C Loop for its paved pads, electric and water hookups, proximity to the beach and Visitor's Center, and the beautiful, spacious lakeside campsites. A private marina is adjacent to the loop and we enjoyed watching boats travel in and out for the day. All campsites in both parks offer paved pads, hookups picnic tables, fire rings and a beautiful scenic setting. Loop A offers many sites with spectacular lake views as well, but sites are not as private and have more of a RV park feel to them. Loop D is set further from the lakeshore and provides limited peek-a-boo vistas of the lake. Sites and roads here were paved, but need maintenance and were not as pristine as Loop A and C.
The Visitor's Center is a must see with a short video outlining the history and wonders of the park. Additionally, a small gift shop, helpful staff, a viewing deck of the lake, kayak rentals, a touch tank, and some spectacular interactive exhibits await the visitor. This state park also hosts many geocaches that can be found within the park. A playground, beach, fishing tournament weigh in center, cabin rentals and multiple picnic sites are available.
