Bass Lake Recreational Resort, Bass Lake, California
pines and has a rustic feeling despite the amenities that you will find here, including: full hookup sites, laundry, clubhouse, a kid's lodge/game room, a snack bar, basketball courts, pool, shuffleboard court, common fire pit area, propane, playground, dog run, wi-fi, and organized activities on popular holiday weekends. If you have friends or family, they can stay overnight in small rental cabins.
Reservations here are only accepted from "club members" which includes those belonging to Good Sam and other resort memberships. A quick and friendly phone call with let you know if you qualify. Upon arrival, you will select your own campsite after driving around to see what suits your needs best. The office staff were very friendly and told us where they thought we would best fit with our larger rig. Some sites back in the dead end areas are more scenic than those in the main loop, however roads are a bit tighter and there are a few trees that are close to the paved interior roads. All sites are gravel or dirt (or pine needles!), do not offer fire pits or BBQs, but they do all have a picnic table for use. We preferred the sites that were along Chipmunk and Raccoon lanes, as they were easily accessed, long, and still offered some nice views. Other sites along Badger lane are more scenic, but are more difficult to navigate to. Sites that back up to Road 274, the road that takes you around Bass Lake, are least desirable.
If you want to visit Yosemite, and don't want to fight the crowds that descend upon it, or go through the painful hassle of getting a reservation, this option might be perfect for you. We found it to be convenient to Yosemite and found Bass Lake to offer its own entertainment as well!
