Wawona, Yosemite National Park, California
handful of rigs settled in each evening, even during the holiday season. The valley floor of Yosemite is nearly an hour from Wawona. A shuttle during the summer months can transport you to the valley floor, otherwise plan on driving a fairly windy, mountain road. Sites are mostly pull off sites from the paved interior roads, so big rigs with several slides might find a tight fit here. Site pads are paved and each site offers pretty views of the creek and surrounding area, along with a bear box, picnic table and fire ring. There is potable water and flushable toilets within the campground. Even though far from the center of the park, Wawona does fill early in the booking window period, so plan on obtaining a reservation early.
