Lava Flow Campground, Craters of the Moon National Monument, Arco, Idaho
we could not have stumbled upon a more picturesque site of a bright orange tent pitched on a small bluff at camp with it's stark, dark surroundings. We really wanted to stay here, and noticed that all types of rigs were here, from big, beautiful class A's to tenters. However, we opted for the laundry and hookups waiting for us down the road. Summers here can be hot, so prepare appropriately. As you pass camp and travel into the park, you will find several hiking trails, viewpoints, and points of interest. Lava Flow Campground is closed to road traffic during winter months due to snow, but camping is still open to skiers and snowshoers.
